Louis Vuitton: Mon Monogram Service [FASHION]

Putting a collection together for a Mon Monogram Pégase adorned with "omfgo&d" - yellow, black, silver stripes going down the side!

For over 150 years, Special Orders have been a tradition at Louis Vuitton, who take pride in fulfilling a traveler’s most exceptional requests like helping them to satisfy a specific need, express their individuality, or realise a dream.

Louis Vuitton has always offered personalisation services such as hot-stamping one’s initials onto a wide selection of soft leathergoods and accessories or hand-painting one’s initials onto hard-sided luggage. Taking this one step further, Louis Vuitton is proposing a new way to personalise a monogram bag and really make it one’s own.

Since 2008, Louis Vuitton proposes a new personalisation concept: Mon Monogram. With Mon Monogram, it is possible to create and own a truly unique bag by personalising one of two Louis Vuitton icons – the Speedy handbag and the Keepall travel bag and both of these in all sizes. And starting on 1 June 2009, this service will also be extended to the iconic Pégase 55 suitcase in both classic and business versions.

Major Lazer - Hold The Line [MUSIC]

Major Lazer is brainchild of Diplo & Switch, who have teamed up to produce a dancehall record which is set for release in June. This is the first single and is officially my jump off tune for the summer!

The duo have adopted the Major Lazer moniker to house the material, although the press notes seem keen to state that "Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA." Entitled Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, the record is a marriage of classic dancehall traditions with the upfront production ethics that you'd usually associate with Diplo and Switch, and they've managed to coax some of dancehall's biggest acts to feature on the record...(click here for more.)

African Tribe Populated Rest of The World [NEWS]

Word.

Research by geneticists and archaeologists has allowed them to trace the origins of modern homo sapiens back to a single group of people who managed to cross from the Horn of Africa and into Arabia. From there they went on to colonise the rest of the world.

Genetic analysis of modern day human populations in Europe, Asia, Australia, North America and South America have revealed that they are all descended from these common ancestors.

It is thought that changes in the climate between 90,000 and 70,000 years ago caused sea levels to drop dramatically and allowed the crossing of the Red Sea to take place.

The findings are to be revealed in a new BBC Two documentary series, The Incredible Human Journey, that traces the prehistoric origins of the human species.

Sean Gourley On The Mathematics of War [VIDEO]

By pulling raw data from the news and plotting it onto a graph, Sean Gourley and his team have come up with a stunning conclusion about the nature of modern war -- and perhaps a model for resolving conflicts.

Sean Gourley, trained as a physicist, has turned his scientific mind to analyzing data about a messier topic: modern war and conflict. Full bio and more links
